Water always wins.

So this week has been a vibrant example that Mother Nature can, and will, display her destructive  beauty without warning. We are fortunate enough that our home is not near any flood plains, my heart goes out to every sand bagged property owners are desperately trying to protect. I was able to catch a couple of hours today in between rain drops ans packing to explore what has happened in the last 48 hours, and was amazed at the massive body of water the Willamette river has become. Unless you know the surrounding area it is hard to comprehend where the banks are usually located, but I think you can appreciate that water is in fact about every place it normally is not. The wild life seemed amused, home owners- not so much. There is an excitement from both the crowds that have gathered, and an energy from the thousands of gallons of water that is now flowing through the city. Water, like electricity, will take the path of least resistance, and this is a big reminder that we are at the mercy of the elements.
Water will always win.
