These photos are from earlier this summer, and I have been wanting to share them but until now did not truly have a place that would do them justice. They are a local farming family, they work hard and like most farmers I have met, are very much the salt of the earth.
And they like to jump for pictures.
Enjoy!

hayleigh. part 2.

So once again my lovely friend Hayleigh joined me in what could be considered "downtown" Salem for some night shots. Easy to navigate, plenty of neon and other non conventional lighting sources, and thankfully no local oddities payed any attention to us. Perfect. We stumbled across some colorful places, and Hayleigh was patient enough to delicately pose while I tinkered away finding the right setting to capture exactly what I had in mind. Shooting at night always catches me by surprise, what I think should be simple ends up being difficult, but then there are always the shots that catch me off guard, in a good way. It is a different playground for me, the normal day time rules do not apply.

This is my friend Hayleigh. Sweet and beautiful.
We decided to brave the Oregon gray skies and shoot a few pictures, like any fashionista and aspiring photographer would do. I am learning to embrace bad light and unforgiving weather, and a little rain never hurt anyone. Umbrellas are quite handy to have around.
